8-SoCSIT "Days"
SoCSIT (School of Computer Science and Information Technology) days are days for SoCSIT students, obviously. These days are packed with different "fun" events like the scavenger hunt, color run, Mr. and Ms. SoCSIT pageant. SoCSIT night, and the 30 seconds of shame or shame (that was intended because it's gonna be shame either way). It was a fun week were we get to take a rest from the horrible, stressful college life. The theme of this year's SoCSIT days is "Take I.T. back" which is a pun for "Take it back" I guess? Take what back? I don't know either. That aside, the SoCSIT days was "fun" I guess.
The first event was the opening ceremony where we had to show our banners and wear old fashioned clothing. Mine was a white long-sleeved polo with a black tie plus a brown sweater, it was a hot experience and what I mean by that was the temperature. Try wearing those in 40 degree heat, it's horrible.
Second day, the only events I can remember was the 30 seconds shame or shame where we were forced to attend because it was "required" for our "midterm grades" (lol like I would believe that sh*t). We just sang the chorus of the song 22 and it didn't go well so we were again forced to drink sh*t. My block-mate won 1st place and received prizes though, so good for him.
On the third day, there was nation wide earthquake drill where we had to duck and stuff, then climbed down 6 floors of stairs, then we walked until we were somewhere near Paseo de Magallanes, then we stood there for what I think was half an hour. What fun right? I wish you could all experience that "wonderful" experience. After that, me and my friends checked out the Mr. and Ms. SoCSIT pageant which was made possible by Topp Cock. Thanks! Topp Cock.
On the last day, there was a scavenger hunt which I wasn't able to attend. Later that night, I attended the SoCSIT night which was a fun experience. We got to listen to bands, dance, eat, drink and take pictures.I also had fun covering the event for our org.
Sports competitions was also happening around those days. We cheered and supported our block-mates who competed in the games. I'm proud of my block-mates because they won 1st runner-up in boy's and girl's volleyball. I guess that concludes the fun-filled SoCSIT days. Now it's back to our horrible, stress-filled college life.
