13-TV is Not To Blame
These days kids and teenagers have been acting very poorly and one of the factors the parents blame is television. The television that shows "violence" and Miley Cyrus. So the question is, is TV really to blame for kids and teenagers behaviour?
To put it bluntly, no. It doesn't.
First up, Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus shocked us all at with her twerk-tastic performance. Before then, young girls looked up to her for being innocent and for also being Hannah Montana's alternate persona. She's been blamed by parents for their 8 year olds twerking and teenagers acting like sluts. Well here's a question. Is Miley Cyrus the one raising your kids? No? Alright.
Second, violence. Parents again blame the television for kdis and teenagers acting more violent because of media violence, but let me remind you that shows have ratings of G, PG which means "General Audience" and "Parental Guidance" respectively. Let's talk about Parental Guidance, you need to guide your child while he or she is watching television. Ratings exist for a reason you know.
Third, television is also educational. I'm assuming everyone has already watched or is still watching an educational show like Dora The Explorer, Diego, Blues Clues, Barney, Wonder Pets, and Little Einsteins. Although we make fun of these shows now, these shows in my experience helped me learn basic stuff like knowing my ABCs, 123s, and the power of friendship and teamwork(haha). Television is also a way for kids to rest after a mind-boggling day of school. See, television also has a positive side.
So there you have it. Television is not to blame for kids and teenagers acting like crap. We should not blame television for a child's behavior because parents should be the one to teach their kids, not television. Actually, you can't blame anything, it all boils down to parenting.
Indeed! TV is not to blame but its effect is the one that affects the people, but it is really on the person whether he will be affected by the TV.
